Little Women the play
My massi had been excited for days that there is a play happening on Little Women. She told us about it and we were also quite interested. She booked the tickets for the play and we went to Kamani Auditorium. We were waiting in line to sit in the auditorium. The play was amazing, some found I boring but I loved it. The play inspired me to watch the movie and read the book. The actors were speaking their lines both in Hindi and English, which made the play quite interesting. All the scenes in the book were acted out amazingly by the actors. There was background music also playing when there was a ball scene, when Beth played the piano for her family. There was a scene where Jo was reading out the book she wrote and the actors acted that out like whatever was written in the book came to life. I used to act too on stage and I would be nervous before going on the stage, but these actors didn’t show a sign of nervousness. Usually people read the book before watching the movie, but I watched the movie and started reading the book. The movie starred one of my favourite actors such as Emma Watson, Timothee Chalamet. I was quite surprised to see them. Emma Watson played Meg and Timothee Chalamet played Theodore Laurence. Though the play didn’t tell how Beth had died, I got to know from the movie how Beth really died. The movie showed us how Jo cared so much about her family, that she cut her hair and sold it to get money for her mother. The movie tells us that you can be whatever you want to be even if people make comments that make you feel low. One should think about what they really want instead of following the society’s opinion. There will be many people who will try to bring you down but one shouldn’t let that stop you. If one is willing to risk everything for what they love doing they should only focus on that. The movie was amazing and so was the play. I’m glad my massi took me to watch the play.
